Terms of use

These terms apply to the Calorko app and this website. By using the app you accept them. If you disagree with anything, please do not use the app and write to us at podrska@calorko.app.

Who provides the service

The app and the website are built and run by Jovan Ilić, Podgorica, Montenegro. Contact: podrska@calorko.app.

What the app does and does not do

Calorko estimates calories and macronutrients from a photo, a description, a barcode or manual entry. Every AI estimate comes with a confidence level (high, medium, low) and a range, because it is an estimate, not a measurement. You can always correct the portion.

  • The app and the articles on this website are not medical advice and do not replace a doctor or dietitian.
  • Do not follow a plan below 1,200 kcal per day without agreeing it with a doctor.
  • If you are pregnant or under 18, the app offers a weight-maintenance plan only. Talk to a doctor before changing your diet.
  • If you have diabetes, an eating disorder or another condition, use the numbers only with your doctor's advice.

Account

You need an account (Apple, Google or email) to use the app. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for keeping access to your account safe. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Free plan and Pro

Free

  • 3 AI photo scans per day; the counter resets at midnight in your local time.
  • Logging by description (text or voice), barcode and manual entry — unlimited.
  • History for the last 7 days.

Pro

  • Unlimited AI scans, with fair use of up to 50 scans per day.
  • Full history, weight trend and weekly report.
  • Data export.

Limits are checked on the server. The 50-scans-per-day ceiling exists to prevent abuse, not to limit normal use.

Subscription and payment

Pro is bought in the app, through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. Billing is handled by Apple or Google under the rules of their store. Plans and prices are the same in both stores and depend on the country of your account:

  • Region (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, North Macedonia): €2.99 per month · €17.99 per year · €39.99 one-time
  • Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the rest of the EU: €4.99 per month · €27.99 per year · €59.99 one-time
  • US, UK, Canada, Australia: $4.99 per month · $27.99 per year · $59.99 one-time

The App Store or Google Play shows the final price in your currency before you buy. Regional prices are lower because incomes in the region are lower — the app and Pro are the same. See also the pricing page.

  • Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
  • Cancelling: on iPhone in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), on Android in Google Play (profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before renewal. Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
  • Trial: 3 days free, on the yearly plan only. If you do not cancel before it ends, the yearly price is charged. The app reminds you one day before.
  • Lifetime Pro: a one-time purchase that does not renew.
  • Refunds: handled by the store: Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com, Google under the Google Play refund policy.

For the Android app, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

Apple licence

Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the iOS app. Where it differs from these terms, Apple's agreement governs your relationship with Apple.

Acceptable use

Use the app to track your own diet. You may not:

  • send automated requests, get around the limits or resell access;
  • try to access other people's data or disrupt the service;
  • upload content that is not a photo or description of food, or content that breaks the law.

In case of abuse we may limit an account temporarily or permanently. We will write to you first, unless the service or other users need to be protected urgently.

Website content

The calorie tables and articles on this website are for information. The numbers are averages for common recipes and portions; the dish you make may have more or fewer calories. Where a value is an estimate, it says so.

Liability

We work to keep the app reliable and the numbers as accurate as possible, but we do not guarantee that estimates will always be correct or that the service will never be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage caused by relying on estimates. This does not limit your statutory consumer rights.

Ending use

You can stop using the app and delete your account whenever you like. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription automatically — cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Montenegro, and the courts of Podgorica have jurisdiction. If you live in the EU or another country with mandatory consumer protection rules, you keep the protection those rules give you.

Changes to these terms

We publish changes on this page with a new date and announce significant changes in the app. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
